The Fountain Of Living Waters

Is there anything in you that you would describe as a river of living water? What a wonderful description of salvation. What a wonderful description of the work of the Holy Spirit in salvation. Before we receive Jesus we are like broken cisterns that cannot hold salvation. When we receive Him, He recreates us into cisterns that can and do hold salvation. While we do hold salvation in us, there is such an abundance of it that it can flow out of us to multitudes of others. God is the source of it, it is like a river that never runs dry and which can create and flow into countless other rivers that will never run dry.

Jeremiah 2:13: For my people have committed two evils; they have forsaken me the fountain of living waters, and hewed them out cisterns, broken cisterns, that can hold no water.

John 4:10-15: Jesus answered and said unto her, If thou knewest the gift of God, and who it is that saith to thee, Give me to drink; thou wouldest have asked of him, and he would have given thee living water. 11 The woman saith unto him, Sir, thou hast nothing to draw with, and the well is deep: from whence then hast thou that living water? 12 Art thou greater than our father Jacob, which gave us the well, and drank thereof himself, and his children, and his cattle? 13 Jesus answered and said unto her, Whosoever drinketh of this water shall thirst again: 14 But whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst; but the water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of water springing up into everlasting life. 15 The woman saith unto him, Sir, give me this water, that I thirst not, neither come hither to draw.

John 7:37-38: In the last day, that great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried, saying, If any man thirst, let him come unto me, and drink. 38 He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water.

Isaiah 43:19: Behold, I will do a new thing; now it shall spring forth; shall ye not know it? I will even make a way in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert.

Proverbs 18:4: The words of a man*s mouth are as deep waters, and the wellspring of wisdom as a flowing brook.

Isaiah 12:3: Therefore with joy shall ye draw water out of the wells of salvation.

Isaiah 44:3: For I will pour water upon him that is thirsty, and floods upon the dry ground: I will pour my spirit upon thy seed, and my blessing upon thine offspring:
